Trump accused Cheney of losing her congressional seat by the largest margin for a sitting Congressperson in U.S. history and claimed that she worked with the January 6th Committee to delete and destroy evidence. However, there is no evidence to support the notion that the committee has destroyed evidence in its investigation into the Capitol riot. Trump and his allies have consistently attempted to downplay the events of January 6th to protect him from blame.
