In a live interview on Fox News, Republican presidential candidate and former UN Ambassador Nikki Haley not only defended her conservative record but also escalated her criticism of GOP frontrunner, former President Donald Trump, labeling him as a liar. Speaking with Fox & Friends co-host Ainsley Earhardt in New Hampshire, surrounded by supporters, Haley refuted Trump’s claim that she was relying on Democratic and liberal votes in the GOP primary.
Haley then went on to challenge Trump on several policy fronts, stating, “There are multiple instances that we need to start asking Donald Trump the questions and stop taking what he’s saying to be golden.” She emphasized that she never advocated for cutting Social Security, whereas Trump had proposed raising the retirement age of Social Security to 70. Additionally, she accused Trump of proposing a 25-cent gas tax increase on all Americans and accumulating $8 trillion in debt over four years.
Expressing her concern for the future and the impact on the country’s fiscal health, Haley stated, “What I’m telling you is it’s not personal with me and Donald Trump. This is about how do we save our country. I don’t want my kids to live like this. We don’t need to continue to live like this.”
Haley also questioned the media’s role in labeling candidates as moderate or conservative, defending her own lifelong conservative credentials. She challenged anyone to point out instances where she deviated from conservative principles.
