Donald Trump and his actions are getting on to him. This time the former president has been found liable of sexually abusing E Jean Carroll. It comes after Judge Lewis Kaplan ruled on Saturday Night in the late hours that the representation for Trump couldn’t legally argue if the Trump Tower owner did NOT rape Carroll.
The ruling from Judge Kaplan read, “Defendant and his counsel shall not offer any evidence, conduct examination, or make any argument relating to Carroll II jury’s determination that plaintiff had failed to prove that defendant ‘raped’ her within the meaning of the New York Penal Law.” This ruling comes before a trial set for Jan. 16. The upcoming trial will determine defamation charges against Trump as the jury found him liable of sexually abusing Carroll. The jury however couldn’t find evidence which would conclude that he raped her.
Mediaite reports that last year May, a jury awarded $5 million in compensatory damages to Carroll after it was established that Trump abused her in 1996. This happened in Bergdorf Goodman dressing room. Trump defamed her in 2022. He continued criticizing Carroll who filed another defamation suit. It is this trial that is set for January 16.
E Jean Carroll and Donald Trump are at loggerheads right now. It’s worth understanding that this will only bring more problems for Trump who wants to run for office in 2024. His nemesis can use it against him and it would not be a good thing to have on your profile. Donald Trump needs to get things organized before things run out of his favour.
Do you think Donald Trump and E Jean Carroll will be able to come to terms without causing trouble for the former president? Sound off in the comments.
