President Joe Biden is reportedly expressing concern over several polls indicating that he could lose the 2024 election to former President Donald Trump, according to a recent report from The Washington Post. The RealClearPolitics average of polls suggests a solid lead of three and a half points for Trump over Biden in a potential rematch.
During a White House event, following the tradition of pardoning turkeys, Biden conveyed his dissatisfaction with his low poll numbers and sought answers from his team on strategies to address the situation. Despite positive economic indicators such as growing economic conditions and declining unemployment, Biden felt that his economic message was not resonating effectively.
The President and First Lady Jill Biden have reportedly voiced frustration over Biden’s low approval ratings and polls showing him trailing Trump, the current frontrunner for the Republican nomination. There is a growing sense of disappointment that more progress has not been made in improving these figures.
Of particular concern are Biden’s standings in crucial battleground states. A recent Bloomberg/Morning Consult poll indicated that Biden trailed the Republican frontrunner in several key states, including Wisconsin, Georgia, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Nevada, North Carolina, and Arizona. This contrasts with the 2020 election when Biden won in all of these swing states except North Carolina.

While White House Deputy Communications Director Andrew Bates did not comment on the President’s private conversations, campaign spokesman T.J. Ducklo remained optimistic about the campaign’s strategic efforts and the infrastructure being built to mobilize a diverse voter coalition.
“We are methodically and strategically building the infrastructure we’ll need to activate the broad and diverse coalition of voters that sent Joe Biden and Kamala D. Harris to the White House, and are confident that the full campaign apparatus that builds off three years of significant investments at the DNC will be a powerful force to defeat whatever MAGA Republican we face next year,” said Ducklo.
