Jack Smith ‘Targeted’ By Swatting After Trump Bombshell

Jack Smith has had problems up his sleeve after he brought an indictment against Trump. The indictment was about the then President’s alleged efforts to overturn his loss in the election results. Jack is involved in two federal cases against Trump, and while one involves the election results, the other one is about the alleged mishandling of classified documents at his Mar a Lago home.

The information coming through two law enforcement sources states that 911 was alarmed on Christmas Day of an attempted swatting at his Maryland residence. The news became even more important as the person who called 911 told that Smith had shot his wife at the place where he lives. Montgomery County Police took notice of it and dispatched units to the location.

NBC News reports that it was a false alarm and the units were called off. Deputy U.S. Marshals protecting Smith and family confirmed to police that the people in the home were safe. No arrests have been made at this moment in connection to this hoax call. Jack Smith’s attorney Cecil VanDevender had previously told some shocking things to the appeals court judges from the D.C. Circuit. Cecil informed that Smith’s office has been subjected to threats on multiple occasions and intimidating communication after the former president shared some “inflammatory posts” about Mr. Smith.

Donald Trump has pleaded not guilty in both cases handled by Jack Smith. The former president got indicted in June last year for his classified documents case and two months he was indicted in the election interference case. Jack Smith isn’t the only one facing this situation as Federal Judge Tanya Chutkan who oversees the election interference case was a victim of the swatting incident over the weekend.

It needs to be seen on what happens in the cases filed by Jack Smith. The election interference trial is scheduled to begin on March 4 while the classified documents case is set for trial on May 20. While these happen at a later date, Trump will be appearing in a Washington DC courtroom on Tuesday where circuit judges hear oral arguments about Trump’s immunity from prosecution in the election interference case.

Do you think Donald Trump will get away with everything that has happened due to him? Sound off in the comments.
