Donald Trump stated on his Truth Social platform that Joe Biden stole the election
Conservative radio host Hugh Hewitt expressed vehement disagreement during a panel discussion on Fox News regarding the Colorado Supreme Court’s decision to bar former President Donald Trump from the state’s ballot.
The exchange occurred on The Special Report with Bret Baier, where Hewitt visibly reacted with eye-rolling and head-shaking as Fox News co-host Jessica Tarlov defended the court’s ruling.
In response to Wall Street Journal columnist Jason Riley’s accusation that “the left” was attempting to bypass the democratic process, Tarlov clarified that the case was initiated by a group of Republicans and wasn’t driven by leftist politics. She further argued that Trump, as the sole presidential candidate challenging the Constitution, was a unique factor in the case.
Hewitt sharply interrupted Tarlov, criticizing her perspective as “the worst legal take” he had ever heard. He labeled it absurd for a non-lawyer to claim that, without a confrontation involving someone not charged or convicted, a court could remove them from the ballot.
Hewitt characterized the ruling as a shameful moment in American jurisprudence and likened it to a cringe-inducing high school musical. He predicted that Colorado would face scorn for decades and asserted that the decision would be swiftly reversed by the court.
When asked about the likelihood of all nine U.S. Supreme Court justices overturning the Colorado Supreme Court’s decision, Hewitt expressed hope for a unanimous 9-0 decision.
He emphasized that if certain justices, such as Brown Jackson or Sotomayor, sided with the Colorado court, their reputations would be as damaged as the Colorado justices’. Hewitt concluded by deeming the decision absurd. This exchange reflects the ongoing debates and controversies surrounding legal and political issues, with strong opinions on both sides of the argument.
