In the late hours of the night, former President Donald Trump took to his Truth Social platform to vent his frustrations about his ongoing legal battles, particularly focusing on his appeal for presidential immunity against criminal charges. Amidst his typical rhetoric, he asserted that if his appeal were to fail, President Joe Biden would also be at risk of indictment.
In a lengthy post on the platform, Trump announced his intention to attend the Federal Appeals Court Arguments on Presidential Immunity in Washington, D.C., scheduled for the following Tuesday. Trump justified his claim to “absolute immunity” by emphasizing his status as the former President of the United States and Commander in Chief, arguing that he was entitled to immunity during his actions, including investigating voter fraud and overseeing the country.
The former president insisted that if he were denied immunity, then Joe Biden, whom he referred to as “Crooked Joe,” should also be stripped of any such protection. Trump went on to enumerate alleged wrongdoings by Biden, citing the border situation and the Afghanistan withdrawal, as well as accusing him of receiving money from foreign countries. He claimed that these actions could leave Biden vulnerable to indictment.
Trump further criticized Biden for supposedly weaponizing the Department of Justice against him, labeling it a political move and warning that it had opened a “giant Pandora’s Box.” He maintained that, as President, he was merely fulfilling his duty to protect the country and suggested that any charges against him were baseless.
The post continued with Trump expressing his belief that he, at the very least, deserved presidential immunity against what he referred to as “Fake Biden Indictments.” In his view, the chaos attributed to Biden’s leadership reinforced his claim to immunity.
Towards the end of his online diatribe, just before 1 am, Trump abruptly concluded with his trademark slogan, “MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!!”
The post also touched upon the upcoming oral arguments in the DC Circuit Court of Appeals, scheduled for January 9. Trump affirmed his intention to be present during these proceedings, emphasizing the significance of the issue of presidential immunity, which had been previously denied by Judge Tanya Chutkan. The appeals court and, ultimately, the Supreme Court would have the opportunity to weigh in on the matter following the denial of dismissal motions based on First Amendment and presidential immunity claims.
I will be attending the the Federal Appeals Court Arguments on Presidential Immunity in Washington, D.C., on Tuesday. Of course I was entitled, as President of the United States and Commander in Chief, to Immunity. I wasn’t campaigning, the Election was long over. I was looking for voter fraud, and finding it, which is my obligation to do, and otherwise running running our Country. If I don’t get Immunity, then Crooked Joe Biden doesn’t get Immunity, and with the Border Invasion and Afghanistan Surrender, alone, not to mention the Millions of dollars that went into his “pockets” with money from foreign countries, Joe would be ripe for Indictment. By weaponizing the DOJ against his Political Opponent, ME, Joe has opened a giant Pandora’s Box.
