Chuck Schumer Faces Another Embarrassing Loss on His Way Out the Door | The Gateway Pundit

    Chuck Schumer

Chuck Schumer (D-NY) is watching his power slip away in the wake of the 2024 election.

Republicans kept control of the House of Representatives, took control of the Senate, and returned President Trump to the White House in a sweeping rejection of everything Schumer stands for.

The Gateway Pundit reported on Schumer’s efforts to stack the courts with Marxist judges before the new Congress begins.

In his latest effort to entrench Democrat control, despite Americans making their views clear, Schumer tried to ensure a Democratic majority on the National Labor Relations Board for the first two years of Trump’s presidency.

Ultimately, however, Schumer’s efforts failed after Sens. Kyrsten Sinema (I-AZ) and Joe Manchin (I-WV) voted ‘no’ on a procedural vote that would have cleared the way for Lauren McFerran’s nomination.

President Trump will now be able to appoint her replacement.

Axios reports, “It was a dramatic and consequential defeat for Schumer and the labor movement.”

Democrats thought they could install McFerran, the current chair, for another five-year term.
That would ensure Democrats had a 3-2 majority on the board, which helps referee disputes between employers of workers across the economy, from Amazon to Starbucks.

Joe Manchin and Krysten Sinema just voted with every Senate Republican against re-confirming Democrat Lauren McFerran to the National Labor Relations Board.

Democrats would have controlled the majority on the NLRB until 2026 if they had voted in favor.

Schumer was not happy with the outcome and whined, “It is deeply disappointing, a direct attack on working people, and incredibly troubling that this highly qualified nominee — with a proven track record of protecting worker rights — did not have the votes.”

Power & Communication Contractors Association President & CEO Tim Wagner, however, shared relief.

“After years of being burdened with her impractical and unconstitutional policies, it’s time for a fresh approach to labor policy. The Senate’s decision to reject McFerran is a significant step in that direction.”
