A Black Lives Matter leader recently came out in support towards former President Donald Trump and slammed the Democrats for pushing “racist polices” against the Black community via Mediaite.
It has been noted that the co-founder of the Black Lives Matter chapter in Rhode Island, Mark Fisher, joined Fox & Friends on Tuesday for an interview with host Lawrence Jones. The pair discussed why they believe Black Americans are leaving the Democratic party and who Fisher plans to back for the 2024 race.
Previously, Fisher had highlighted his support for Trump earlier this month when he praised the Republican frontrunner for his prison reform policies. The BLM leader argued Democrats are taking the Black vote for granted.
“It’s the duplicity of the Democrats, the hypocrisy,” Fisher told Jones. “We’re not stupid. The brothers are not stupid. We understand when someone’s for us and when someone is not, and it’s obvious that the Democratic Party is not for us.”
“The policies actually strike at the heart of the Black family and the nuclear family,” he added. “We’ve been used and abused for so long by that party, they don’t value our vote…Their policies are basically racist policies. I believe it’s a racist party. Donald Trump is just the opposite. He’s going to tell you how it is. He’s going to give it to you straight.”
During the last presidential election, the Black community overwhelming backed Joe Biden, voting for him 92%-8% over Trump. Black voters were specifically essential for Biden in flipping key Republican states such as Georgia
