Steve Mensch, President of Tyler Perry Studios The President of Atlanta-based film studio Tyler Perry Studios, Steve Mensch, died in a plane crash in Homosassa, Florida Friday evening. Mensch, 62, was reportedly piloting the small plane when he crashed on Florida’s Gulf Coast about 60 miles North of Tampa. The Federal Aviation Administration and National Transportation Safety Board are currently investigating the crash.
