Former President Donald Trump has launched scathing attacks on his top GOP primary opponents, including Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley, and former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, ahead of the Iowa Caucus. All three were once considered strong Trump loyalists before deciding to run against him for the nomination.

In his posts on Truth Social, Trump criticized DeSantis, stating he has “ZERO personality” and implying disloyalty by claiming DeSantis would have performed poorly in the primary without Trump’s endorsement. He also took a jab at DeSantis’s campaign team and suggested he should return to Florida.
Trump was similarly critical of Chris Christie, labeling him “Sloppy Chris Christie” and highlighting his low approval rating in New Jersey. Regarding Nikki Haley, Trump accused her of being unreliable and disloyal, emphasizing her earlier praise for him before deciding to run against him.
“RON DESANCTIMONIOUS HAS ONE MINOR FLAW AGAINST THE DEMOCRATS — HE HAS ZERO PERSONALITY,” TRUMP WROTE ON TRUTH SOCIAL. “IF I DIDN’T ENDORSE HIM, HE WOULD HAVE FINISHED, DURING THE PRIMARY, AT 3%. NO LOYALTY! BOBBLEHEAD IS NOW IN THIRD PLACE, JEFF ROE HAS TAKEN ALL OF HIS MONEY AND QUIT, AND HE SHOULD GET ON A PLANE AND GO BACK TO FLORIDA TODAY. HE NEVER TOLD THE PEOPLE, DURING THE FLORIDA GOVERNOR CAMPAIGN, THAT THEY WOULD BE ABANDONED
Despite these attacks, Trump maintains a dominant lead in Iowa polling, with a 51% average, while DeSantis and Haley trail behind at 18% and 16%, respectively. The former President’s posts on Truth Social reflect his efforts to solidify his position as the frontrunner in the GOP primary and undermine the credibility of his competitors. Christie, positioning himself as the anti-Trump candidate, has seen some gains in New Hampshire. The escalating tensions within the GOP highlight the intense competition and shifting dynamics leading up to the primaries.
