Former White House communications director Alyssa Farah Griffin exposed the efforts of Donald Trump’s top operatives to shield the former president from the public eye, aiming to keep the “chaos and the crazy” aspects of his persona hidden from voters according to a report by Raw Story on Wednesday, January 3 2023.
Griffin disclosed these insights during an interview with CNN on Wednesday, January 3.
According to Griffin, two key individuals within Trump’s inner circle are employing sophisticated strategies to divert him away from the limelight.
“Those two individuals know that keeping Trump out of the public eye is actually the best thing they can do,” she emphasized.
Griffin pointed out the noticeable absence of Trump from large rallies, Twitter, mainstream media interviews, and regular media appearances – a departure from his approach during the same period in 2020.
“We’re going to see that tick up. He’s not on Twitter. He’s not giving big sit-down interviews; he’s not on mainstream media on a regular basis. So I think the public is forgetting the chaos and the crazy of Trump,” Griffin asserted.
She linked this strategic move to the current poll numbers that suggest Trump is gaining ground against his potential challengers.
Griffin believes that the less the public sees of Trump, the more likely they are to overlook the tumultuous moments of his presidency.
“They know when to reel him in,” Griffin added, citing instances where Trump made controversial statements.
For example, when he mentioned the possibility of being a dictator, these operatives swiftly intervened to guide him back.
The delicate balance of showcasing Trump while avoiding the pitfalls of his impulsive behavior appears to be at the core of their strategy.
However, Griffin also acknowledged the limitations within Trump’s campaign team, cautioning against overestimating their sophistication. “I don’t want to overstate this notion he has a sophisticated team around him,” she warned.
Beyond the two key individuals steering Trump, she described the broader team as a “mishmash” of individuals who have clung to the former president or remained in his circle for various reasons.
In essence, this revelation suggests a calculated effort by Trump’s inner circle to carefully manage his public presence.
While Trump’s absence from the limelight may shield him from potential controversies, it also raises questions about the transparency and authenticity of his campaign.
As the 2024 election looms, the delicate dance between showcasing Trump’s appeal and mitigating his unpredictable tendencies will undoubtedly shape the trajectory of his political comeback.
