Former President Donald Trump is gearing up for a major shift in his campaign strategy as the first-in-the-nation primary in Iowa looms.
According to a report by the Conservative Brief on Saturday, December 30, 2023, Just the News reported that in a recent interview conducted by the media outlet, Trump disclosed his intention to reclaim the narrative around the “extremism” label that President Joe Biden and Democrats have often associated with his supporters.
Just the News also reported that Trump plans to turn the tables by emphasizing that it is the Democrats who represent the true extreme end of the political spectrum.
Democrats, according to the media outlet, have consistently portrayed the “Make America Great Again” (MAGA) movement as an existential threat to the foundations of the Republic.
Trump now aims to capitalize on this narrative and paint the Democrats as the fringe party out of touch with Main Street USA.
Trump outlined a multifaceted campaign strategy, focusing on key issues he believes highlight the Democrats’ supposed extremism.
These include open borders, the surge of illegal immigrants, alleged support for Iran’s activities, inclusion of biological men in women’s sports and locker rooms, and advocacy for abortion on demand.
In the recent interview with Just the News, Trump reportedly asserted, “It is a liability. They are extreme.”
The 45th president, who is currently leading the 2024 GOP presidential race, has been carefully crafting his messaging platform.
His speeches, rallies, and interviews in recent months reveal a concerted effort to corner Biden and the Democrats on a spectrum of issues, portraying them as extreme in the eyes of the American public.
Notably, Trump’s rhetoric has also invoked comparisons to Nazi propagandist Leni Riefenstahl. Despite these controversial associations, Trump remains undeterred, using vivid language to rally his supporters.
According to the Conservative Brief, Just the News noted that during a rally in Durham, N.C., he declared, “We’re going to bring our country back from hell. It’s in hell. In hell. Not one thing has gotten better under crooked Joe Biden.”
Advisers close to Trump indicate that he sees the extremism debate as a winning issue.
They also believe that Biden’s ominous speech roughly 15 months ago, which turned the walls of Philadelphia’s Independence Hall blood red with optical lights, will become a source of regret for him as the 2024 elections approach.
Trump has not shied away from referencing this speech in his recent rallies, asserting that Biden and his “radical left allies” masquerade as defenders of democracy but are, in reality, its destroyers.
At a recent rally in Iowa, Trump pointedly criticized Biden, stating, “Biden and his radical left allies like to pose as defenders of democracy. You see, he was standing up there not so long ago with the pink and red background – that looked a little bit sinister.”
He also added, “But Joe Biden is not the defender of American democracy. Joe Biden is the destroyer of American democracy, and it’s him and his people.”.
