In a statement posted on his social media platform, Truth Social, on December 28, 2023, former President Donald Trump unleashed a scathing attack on what he termed “Crooked Joe Biden’s Prosecutorial Thug,” referring to Jack Smith as a “Deranged” figure.
Trump accused Smith of aggressively working to undermine his political standing, likening the tactics to those employed in “Third World Countries.” The crux of Trump’s grievance centered around what he perceived as an infringement on his right to free speech, asserting that Smith sought to prevent him from discussing what he characterized as the “Rigged and Stolen Presidential Election of 2020
Trump contended that the evidence supporting his claims was “MASSIVE & CONCLUSIVE,” doubling down on his allegations of electoral impropriety. He also brought attention to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, claiming she had rejected the deployment of 10,000 troops on January 6th, a move Trump asserted could have swiftly quelled any issues that arose.
Further, Trump took aim at the Unselect Committee, derisively labeling its members as “Political Thugs & Misfits.” According to Trump, this committee had engaged in illicit activities by unlawfully deleting and destroying crucial information and evidence related to their findings. Notably, Trump suggested that the evidence was integral to his defense in potential upcoming trials.
Expressing his dissatisfaction with the current state of affairs, Trump questioned why Jack Smith, the so-called “Deranged” prosecutor, was not investigating what he deemed the committee’s destruction of essential documents. He framed this lack of investigation as emblematic of a broader issue, asserting that under the leadership of “Crooked Joe Biden,” the United States had become a “two-tiered system of INJUSTICE.”
