Mary Trump, the estranged niece of Donald Trump, has alleged a series of “other alleged crimes” involving members of her extended family, including Jared Kushner, the husband of Ivanka Trump.
According to article by Newsweek on Friday, December 8, 2023, Mary Trump claims that the corporate media is not adequately covering what she describes as a “long list of allegations of wrongdoing throughout” Kushner’s career.
The accusations include claims that the Kushner family used Jared’s position in the Trump administration for their benefit, pointing to reported meetings with Apollo Global Management founder Joshua Harris and subsequent business loans to the Kushner family.
In 2018, The New York Times reported on meetings between Kushner and Harris regarding infrastructure policy, raising questions about the Kushner family receiving loans from the company.
While the details at the time couldn’t be confirmed, Kushner’s lawyer stated that the meetings were to “hear about ideas for improving the American economy.”
Mary Trump alleges a conflict of interest in this case.
Another case referenced by Mary Trump involves Kushner allegedly setting up a shell company that spent over $600 million of Donald Trump’s campaign money, secretly benefiting the then-president’s family.
A source close to the Trump camp suggested that campaign funds were routed through the shell company, ‘American Made Media Consultants,’ to avoid federally mandated financial disclosures.
Mary Trump also mentioned concerns raised in 2018 about Kushner “freelancing U.S. foreign policy,” specifically citing his close relationship with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
The Intercept reported that Kushner had disclosed names of individuals disloyal to bin Salman, a claim strongly denied by Kushner’s spokesperson.
Connected to allegations of a close relationship with bin Salman, Mary Trump referenced the accusation that Kushner received $2 billion in hush money related to the death of journalist Jamal Khashoggi.
However, a Newsweek fact-check from July last year found this claim to “significantly stretch the facts,” noting that the payment was related to an investment in Kushner’s private equity firm after he left the White House.
Mary Trump’s assertions come in response to the recent indictment of President Joe Biden’s son, Hunter Biden.
She highlighted incidents involving other political figures owing taxes, including Rudy Giuliani and Roger Stone.
It’s important to note that while Mary Trump makes these allegations, they should be treated as claims rather than proven facts.
Newsweek reached out to Kushner’s lawyer for comment, but no response has been reported.
Mary Trump is known for her critical stance toward her uncle, Donald Trump, and has previously written a book about her family, titled “Too Much and Never Enough: How My Family Created the World’s Most Dangerous Man.
