Former President Donald Trump recently took aim at The Atlantic on Saturday and personally attacked its owner Laurene Powell Jobs
“It’s so good to see how badly the THIRD RATE MAGAZINE, The Atlantic, is doing,” Trump said of the storied publication.
“It’s failing at a level seldom seen before, even in the Publishing Business. False and Fake stories do it every time! They’ve got a rich person funding the ridiculous losses, but at some point, rich people get smart also. Steve Jobs would not be proud of his wife, Laurene, and the way she is spending his money. The Radical Left is destroying America!”
It has been noted that Powell Jobs, The Atlantic’s publisher and majority owner, is the widow of Apple founder Steve Jobs and has found herself in Trump’s crosshairs before
“Steve Jobs would not be happy that his wife is wasting money he left her on a failing Radical Left Magazine that is run by a con man (Goldberg) and spews FAKE NEWS & HATE. Call her, write her, let her know how you feel!!!” Trump tweeted in September 2020, urging his followers to get in touch.
Trump’s first jab at Powell Jobs came after the magazine editor-in-chief, Jeffrey Goldberg, published a piece titled, “Trump: Americans Who Died in War Are ‘Losers’ and ‘Suckers.’”
In the article, Goldberg laid out in devastating detail Trump’s disgust with U.S. military veterans who were killed or injured fighting for the country. The article was later confirmed by former Trump chief of staff John Kelly, who was Goldberg’s source for the story and whose own son was killed in battle.
Trump’s most recent jab comes days after Peter Wehner wrote a piece titled, “Have You Listened Lately to What Trump Is Saying?” In the article, which ran with a subtitle warning, “He is becoming frighteningly clear about what he wants,” Wehner argues that Trump’s recent rhetoric and threats made against his fellow Americans are not only undemocratic but also anti-Christian.
